Working as the Senior Project Manager Network Technical Engineer, you will administer and provide technical direction to department engineers as well as plan and coordinate larger-scale network and/or engineering projects or several medium or small projects while acting as a technical specialist for a specific section. This position may also be responsible for contributing to AT&Ts compliance with environmental laws and regulations as applicable to its job function. This may include, but is not limited to, work related to fuel tanks, emergency and stand-by generators, boilers, hazardous waste, hazardous materials, batteries, manholes and vaults, water wells, linear and other construction projects, water discharge, or air emissions. Additional Responsibilities: - Maintain a thorough knowledge of new developments and technology
- Monitor projects and recommend changes to improve operating efficiency
- Plan and manage the implementation of special network or engineering projects
- Manage project scope determination
- Manage and track project expenditures
- Manage communications with Technical Planning, RF Engineering, Network Operations, Field Personnel
- Coordinate the activities of cross functional groups to complete major projects that typically involve developing project activity schedules, establishing sub-committee hierarchy, monitoring progress, serving as a single point of contact for problem resolution
- Require knowledge of the network hierarchy, network principles, core business processes, Company standards and guidelines and project management processes
- Implement of new technologies, products and services for growth
- Develop interdepartmental operations, administration and maintenance methods and procedures
- Provide service management to customers who experience service problems and eliminate roadblocks while finding and removing process problems
- Provide technical support and training to subordinates, peers, and other work groups
- Require the coordination of technologies, processes, and people to ensure that tasks and issues are planned, tracked and resolved
The Senior Project Manager Network Technical Engineer typically reports into third level management and may oversee a team or be an individual contributor. Position may provide training or mentoring to less experienced staff, and may also provide feedback for the evaluation of new staff. Required Qualifications: - Three to five years project management experience
- Three to five years Network Engineering/Implementation experience
- Understanding of Layer 1 Transport, Layer 2 Data and Layer 3 IP technologies
Desired Qualifications: - Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical area
- PMP certification
- Prior experience with the Product Development process and project life cycle management
- Familiarity with the corporate capital funding process
- Experience in Marketing, Ordering, provisioning, and Maintenance of Special Services, Customer CPE Managed Internet access, TCCS processes.
- Experience managing vendor teams and multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of IP Networks, Transport, Edge/Core Routers, CISCO, Legacy T Networks, AT&T Mobility Data Network
- Experience using an online document repository tool to house project documentation (eRoom, eProject, etc)
- Five or more years experience in writing international Commercial and Technical requirements for Subsea supply contracts (organization/position specific)
- Five or more years experience in fiber optic undersea cables (organization/position specific)
- OSS Development and UAT experience
- Equipment Co-location practices for transport equipment, space and power infrastructure requirements
- Understanding of Layer 1 Transport, Layer 2 Data and Layer 3 IP technologies
- Proficient in problem solving with complex networks
- Ability to lead and direct teams in a matrix environment
